Day 1
We travelled the 127 miles north to Aberdeen from Edinburgh on Monday lunch time and arrived about 3.30pm. Checked in to the Travelodge on Bridge Street then went to park the car over the bridge in Torry.
Had our evening meal then walked along to the Grosvenor Casino to try our luck on the slot machines. Our luck was definitely in as we ended up in profit!
Day 2
Had breakfast then walked over to Torry to where the car was parked and set off for Newburgh Seal Beach. We found it eventually and walked down to the beach to see if we could see any seals. We saw quite a few bobbing up and down in the water and I just managed to capture one as it bobbed up to say hello!
Our next stop was Cruden Bay, further up the coast. We found the Kilmarnock Hotel where Bram Stoker wrote the first few chapters of Dracula,
then walked down to the bay and harbour there.
We then drove on to the Bullers of Buchan and walked along the coastal path to see hundreds of nesting birds - kittiwakes, guillemots, razorbills and fulmars - and an archway in the cliffs. The scenery was absolutely stunning.
As we were only 6 miles from Peterhead by this time we decided to go there for something to eat. Drove back to Aberdeen, parked the car and walked back to the Travelodge. Paid another visit to the casino at night and we were in profit again!
Day 3
Played breakfast bingo at Buzz bingo for £3 each and won £25. We had a cup of tea and a roll with 3 sausages for £2.50 each. Had a walk round Aberdeen and visited a few shops in the afternoon.
Casino visit at night but this time our luck had ended and we lost.
Day 4
Had a lovely cooked breakfast this morning and played breakfast bingo at Buzz bingo again. £3 for each of us to play and we won £35. Drove to Aberdeen Beach as it was such a lovely day and spent the afternoon there and at the harbour.
After our evening meal we went to the casino but no luck again. We then played the evening session of bingo at Buzz bingo but our luck had finally run out there too so no wins.
Day 5
Had breakfast, checked out and drove home.
We really enjoyed our time in Aberdeen and the weather was very kind to us.
